Meet the Team

Alexa Williams, MA, LPCS/C, NCC

OWNER/CEO

I am the Owner and CEO of Essence of Balance Counseling and Coaching, LLC, providing 100% virtual mental health therapy, coaching, private practice consulting, and professional supervision services. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor Candidate and am licensed to provide therapy in South Carolina, Florida, and Delaware. I am committed to creating safe, inclusive, and affirming spaces for healing, growth, and professional development.

Therapy

My therapeutic work is deeply rooted in serving BIPOC communities and the LGBTQIA+ population, holding space for individuals who may not always feel seen or understood in traditional settings. I believe therapy should honor both your unique story and the cultural context that shapes who you are.

I specialize in individual therapy, helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, racial trauma, relationship concerns, and identity exploration. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, meaning I tailor sessions to your needs by drawing from multiple modalities. These include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – to identify patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and build coping skills.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy – to explore how past experiences and unconscious processes influence your present.

  • Existential Therapy – to help you find meaning, purpose, and clarity in life’s transitions.

At the core of my therapeutic work is the belief that healing begins when you feel truly heard and accepted. My goal is to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and respect as you uncover your strengths and move toward a life of authenticity and balance.

Coaching

In addition to therapy, I offer coaching services nationwide for individuals seeking support, clarity, accountability, and guidance as they work toward personal goals and navigate different areas of their lives.

Coaching is separate from therapy and is future-focused and action-oriented. Rather than diagnosing or treating mental health concerns, our work focuses on identifying where you are, where you want to go, and practical steps that can help you move forward.

Coaching may focus on areas such as personal growth, life transitions, relationships and communication, boundaries, confidence and self-worth, goal setting, decision-making, finding direction, creating healthier habits, and becoming more intentional about the life you want to build.

Private Practice Consulting

I also provide private practice consulting for mental health professionals who are interested in starting, growing, or restructuring their private practice.

Consulting provides an opportunity to ask questions, gain insight from my firsthand experience as a private practice owner, troubleshoot challenges, and develop practical next steps. Topics may include getting started in private practice, transitioning from agency or group practice work, insurance versus self-pay, setting rates, scheduling and caseload management, policies and payment systems, credentialing and practice platforms, marketing, client onboarding, and the everyday logistics of running a private practice.

Private practice consulting is an educational and professional service and is separate from clinical supervision.

LPCA Supervision

As a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor Candidate, I provide clinical supervision for Licensed Professional Counselor Associates (LPCAs) in South Carolina who are working toward independent licensure.

My approach to supervision is collaborative, supportive, and focused on helping developing clinicians strengthen their clinical skills, professional identity, ethical decision-making, case conceptualization, and confidence as therapists. I strive to create a supervision environment where supervisees feel comfortable asking questions, exploring challenges, receiving constructive feedback, and continuing to develop their own authentic approach to clinical work.

Whether you are seeking therapy, coaching, professional guidance, or supervision, my goal is to provide an environment that encourages authenticity, clarity, growth, and meaningful change.

Please Note: Coaching and private practice consulting are separate from psychotherapy and do not establish a therapist-client relationship. Private practice consulting is not clinical supervision, legal advice, tax advice, or financial advice. Clinical supervision services are provided in accordance with applicable South Carolina professional requirements.

I look forward to working with you!
